Central Locking and Head Unit not working, plz help

Hi,

I was changing my head unit, it was working then i turned the car off and then back on, then the head unit wouldn't turn on. I then changed it back to the stock HU and then this wouldnt work either. I then attempted to lock the car and then the central locking wasnt working, both through the button and using the key only locks the door its put into none of the others.

The head unit i was using was an eclipse, and i used a wiring harness.

I don't know what to doo!
Please help anyone! =)

Thanks
Lukas

Check "back up" fuse in under hood fuse box.

if that doesn't work there are some more fuses under the kick panel inside the car. Whenever something isn't working for me electrically, I've usually shorted out a fuse in there. I've never figured out which fuse does what but i just keep checking until i've found a burnt one.

Yeah i had a feeling thats what might have happened.
I've never changed a fuse in a car before, is it relatively difficult or should i go to a service place.

is there a specific fuse i should look for and where would i get a new fuse from? just any Car accessories shop?

Thanks alot for quick reply

The fuses rating is marked on the top face you will see when cover removed(it is either 10 or 15 amps) replace it with whatever was in place to start with, never larger.

The fuse pulls straight up and out.

There are spare fuses in both the under-hood and under-dash fuse boxes.

there are a few years of civic where the keyless entry is tied to the stock deck. so if you wanted aftermarket deck, you would have to keep the stock one hooked up too

Re: Central Locking and Head Unit not working, plz help

My civic is a 2005 australian model. Apparantly the aust. models dont require the stereo in for the central to work from what ive 'heard' but who knows.

Sorry to be a pain, but this is a photo of my fuse box, can you point out which ones are spare and which ones i should look at if possible =). (It is the bonnet fuse box [although im sure you could all tell that hehe])

I want to put the eclipse deck back in but will only do so once I know whats wrong with everything else.

Thanks heaps!!

The "back up" fuse is # 9 = 10 Amp.

The spare 10Amp is in the picture to the right, It is red fuse near the three yellow fuses oriented differently. The lid of the box has diagram underneath.

What if it isnt the backup fuse?

I havent changed anything in my car, but for some reason tonight my remote wouldnt unlock or lock the car. It would flash my headlights correctly so the signal is getting there, but not do anything to the locks.

Also from inside the car, the lock switch does make a click sound, but does not move the lock (either side) up or down.

I checkup the backup fuse as well as the fuse inbetween the headlight fuses specifically labelled for the doors and they look perfect. Not burned, browned r anything. I could understand a fuse going when changing something but this is a little odd.

What would the next thing be to check?! I can lock/unlock using the key in the door cylinder if that matters.
