Brother is turning 16 this week. And for his birthday my parents wanted to buy him a Civic.

The civic they found is a 01 coupe. But it has these parts listed as mods. , INJEN cold ram intake, D/c sport headers, full catback exhaust

im wondering what exactly all this is..or is this just ricer stuff that isnt needed

not really, it depends how they sound...if the exhaust sounds like a fart cannon than yes, if it doesnt than no. It really depends on your brother, does he want an exhaust that is going to be loud while driving on the freeway and stuff? it really depends on him, if he wants a quiet commuter car than i say no, dont get it. Now if its a cold air intake its possible he could hydrolock the engine(suck up water through the intake) since the cold air intakes sit lower to the ground. Its rare but could happen if going through a deep puddle and than he would need a new engine or some work done to it that im guessing a 16 year old wouldnt want to deal with

not exactly. its the basic mods that anyone does to thier car to gain HP. it makes the car sound meaner and louder but not much power gain at all. its the common I/H/E....Intake/Header/Exhaust

ok well thats not a cold air intake, and looks to be an ebay intake also, so thats wrong info on that part by the seller, usually if a car is modded it has been beat on most likely....i would never buy a modded car

well i guess it was converted to a short ram intake, idk man test drive the car and ask a lot of questions and have someone look at it

personally, i would not buy a modded car, id buy a stock car that has not been modded, because modded cars have usually had the **** driven out of them, search elsewhere

yea dont buy a modded car there are tons of other civics out there for sale and in better condition that is if he wants a civic that engine looks beat anyway but the only plus i see is its got a red top optima battery or it looks like one kinda maybe its just an autozone battery oh well its a pos anyway
