Re: name of this tool

u can use an impact wrench for this? if u look at ur harmonic balancer it has a hole in the center for the bolt to go through and a hex concerntric with the hole. the special tool located on the hex so u can hold the balancer steady while u tighten the nut. u can ask ur dealer, autozone nor advanceauto carry it.

There is no need for a special tool for the install.

Use a torque wrench set to the specified torque value by Honda.

In order to keep the crank from turning while you tighten it you will need to hold the Balancer in place while you tighten it down.

You should be able to do this pretty easy now that all your belts are on.

I beleive his question was regarding install not removal, but you are correct on the name for removal tool.

Well your reputation as a Honda expert is probably well deserved I won't argue with that.

I don't have much wrench time on Honda.

I'll step aside.

Re: name of this tool

the crank pullley / harmonic balancer on honda is keyed. u do not need any puller to take it off, but u need the special tool from keeping the engine turning over or an impact wrench while u try to fasten or loosen the bolt.

i just used an impact wrench to tighten that bolt on a crv. i used some blue thread locker too. Cause every time i tried to use torque wrench the engine just kept turning over before i was able to get to the torque limit.

either way, the engine runs ccw and the bolt tightens cw. therefore the bolt gets a little tighter after u install it.

hopefully this clears all the confusion.
