coolant leak
ive read many normal coolant leaks from overflowing the radiator or whatever but mine is weird. my civic is leaking coolant from under my glove department like drip drop and i definitely smell the coolant from the heater everytime i turn it on. any suggestions ?

Re: coolant leak
Either damaged hoses or small leak in core itself.

Re: coolant leak
Well assuming thats even the problem yes and no.
The first thing you need to do is determine if its actually the heater core or one of the two hoses joined to the core.
If either of these components are the source of the leak then you can go about draining the coolant and making the repairs.
However I would suggest going to Auto Zone or the like and picking up a Haynes repair book for your specific car model.
In the case of the hoses it could likely be just a lose hose clamp or a small hole or slit in the hose, easy fix.
In the case of the heater core it would be a damaged vane or a solder joint has fractured. In this case you would need to take out the heater core and take it to your local radiator repair shop so they can presser test it to find the source of the leak then they will either solder or Epoxxy the hole.
But I am in know way suggesting this is the problem, to be honest with you I don't even know were the heater core is on a civic, I've never had a problem with it.
I hope this helps.
