Battery/alternator issue??
First, let me say I went through 4 pages of search results, and didn't find anything relevant, so here goes.
I have an DX, and for a few months, I've been noticing that when driving at night, with the heater fan on high, and the headlights on (obviously), when I stop, the fan will slow down a bit, and the dash and headlights will dim slightly. This is immediately resolved by pressing on the gas to rev the engine slightly, or to take off from the stop position. I'm pretty sure the battery isn't bad yet, as it's at most 3 years old. Also, it was @ degrees here this am, and it started fine. The dimming issue doesn't resolve itself even if i drive for 15 or 20 minutes without shutting the car off. Is this indicative of a problem with my battery and or alternator, or just the fact that a relatively cheap car has a cheap electrical system, is nothing to worry about? The car has about 40k on it.

Just because your battery is less than 3 years old doesn't mean it's holding a full charge, you might want to have it tested.
I upgraded my grounding wires and installed a SUN hypervoltage and the dimming is minimized.

damn, i am a noob. that's not even an old thread. thanks for the link. what seems weird about my issue is that it's just the heat and the headlights. no power windows, no a/c compressor running (i've done the thing so you can turn it off when on defrost) and it's a constant thing at idle. i guess i'll start by having to battery checked, or maybe just upgrade it anyway, as i guess three years is getting up there in age.
has anyone else actually noticed this issue on a dx, without power windows, etc.??

i have a dx and do not have any of the problems. I would start with tension of the alternator belt and get battery and alternator checked at the same time (its free at autozone) and also check your idle. yeah just clean the terminals off too.
