Front left brake... abs?

Well if you've read before how my bolt fell out of my control arm and I had the little accident, then follow along. The first day I got my car back I was driving away from the shop and everything was a.o.k... then when I brake everything is good until right before I stop. The front left brake locks up. ABS? The abs light isn't on however. So I pulled my wheel off and I see that the inside pad has taken it's toll on the rotor. I think it's the 'caliper' that cause the pads to squeeze on the rotor.(?) I found out that the caliper doesn't go back in after you step on the brake... it just stays out. So I did a bunch of things to test it and it still doesn't go back in, so I'm stuck. How much would just that caliper run me? I can't trust mechanics... if it's not one thing it's another. Thanks guys.

Calipers can be rebuilt. I believe they sell kits at Autozone, Discount, etc. They're like $40 from what I've read.

its not that hard. the kit should come with directions on how to do it, if not search it. the main thing to do is to keep it clean, and make sure the square cut seal is in properly. GL.
