power window troubles
power window troubles
ok, here's the deal, i have an '02 civic ex. my driver side window is stuck in the down position. when i press the window up/down switch, i hear the motor /regulatoir working, except that the window will not roll up. i know that the electronics are in good working order. What do you guys think the problem is? is the window off the track, or are there clips that secure the window to the apparatus that raises and lowers the window? any help would be much appreciated. thanks.

more then likely its the regulator thats faulty. the windows sits on the regulator and is attached to it by a few bolts. basically the motor is attached to the regulator by cables. so when the motor runs, it is moving the cables which in turn cause the window to move up and down. if you can hear the motor run, but nothing happens, it is usually the regulator that is at fault. either the cables inside the motor are binding or they came off somewhere else.
but either way the motor and regulator are one assembly. no purchasing either/or seperately.
