Exclamation Steering shakes when breaking!!

Hey guys
I'm having a problem where my steering shakes volently when i'm breaking while going at highway speed. It won't do it when i'm doing 45 or less, but when i'm up at 65~75 and start to break, the thing shakes/vibrates like crazy.
just asked the guys at local shop, and they said it might be warped rotars.. but why would it get warped without any reason???
anyone had this problem and had it fixed??
help me out~ thx

sounds like problem is warped rotors... its an easy innocent thing to screw up.. you dont have to do anything "stupid" to warp them... simply driving through town in traffic using yer breaks and then hitting a big puddle is the easyed way to warp them... its how i have managed to warp every set of rotors on ever car i have ever owned... its not a big deal.. mostly just annoying...

its your brakes, especially if it only happens when braking. i work with tires all day long, and see slipped belts constantly, and they cause shaking at all speeds, braking or not.

you need a tire balancing.

I know that in my 04 5speed it vibrates a little bit when one tire is a little soft.. but it sounds like it's alot worse in your case. Check the pressure in all of your tires.

1) get your tires balanced
or 2) get your brakes checked

thx everyone for quick replies. Just for later use "if anyone has same problem and is searching for an answer", This problem was due to the warped rotors.
I've just went into local shop, and they turned my rotors (around $20), and my car runs just fine now.

Honda rotors are notorious for warping. Turning the rotor will only buy you a bit of time. It'll mostly likely get warp again in the near future. When it make sense economically, replace it with decent aftemarket ones, then do a proper break-in and perform properly seasoning of the new rotors. This will reduce the chance of warping dramatically.
