Intercooler is an unknown quantity at this point

Need help getting this console piece out/in

It has a black surround and the shifter that I have to get out of the way to get it out. Any secrets to it? Can't figure out where to start.

I thought someone would have taken one of these out maybe in doing a conversion?

if you take the silver part off its mounted under that.. i think its 4 clips each or something.. its been like 3 years..
