Downshift Adjustment
My auto tranny seems to be slow in downshifting when I'm slowing down from cruising in OD. It's like I have to punch it (kickdown)to get it to select a lower gear when I get back on the gas. If I try to accelerate moderately it stays in high gear and s-l-o-w-l-y lugs out from 1200 RPM. Is this an adjustment that can be made like the old style vacuum controlled kickdown adjustment? Anyone else have the same problem? I did a search and found problems with the automatics downshifting too soon but I think that's a grade logic problem and not the same as mine.

I've heard the same problem with most automatics, not sure if Honda has corrected this proble but its suppose to help with fuel milage. Not to rub it in or anything but I love my manual.

Yah, I hear ya. I would go with the manual too but my wife needs to drive it, otherwise I would end up being the taxi driver for the whole family.lol Other than my downshift problem, it's a good smooth shifting tranny especially compared to older 4-banger autos that would slam into every gear.
