Can scratches be removed from the dash?

Can scratches be removed from the dash?
I have a 2005 civic dx.
my dog just scratched the dash on the passenger side.
Is ther any way to minimize or repair the scratch?
Will the material massage back into place? Should I try a heat gun or just leave it?
