Squeak when I shift from 1st to 2nd

I don't get it. I think I've noticed this ever since I've had wheels 18" and up. When I get above 5K RPMS and I shift from 1st, I get this short squeak that sounds like it's coming from the driverside front wheel. I hear it VERY rarely from 2nd to 3rd but commonly from 1st to 2nd. I'm pretty mechanically inclined and based on logic, my tranny is on the opposite side. So what the crap would make this noise? It's frickin annoying and baffles me.

Anybody?
