Sounds Like Detonation??????

i have a 02 civic ex and i'm just wonderin has anyone had this problem...
My car makes like a backfire noise when i punch it in second gear and when it happens my car tends to stall a little. After this happened i just found out that their is gray powder inside my exhaust tip so help me out........

If you think its detonation, pull the spark plugs and show us what it looks like.

My plugs are usualy more of a gray hen a brown, Denso Iridiums but they seem even and run good.

Mine Did That And It Was My Tdc Sensor...check It Out At The Dealer If U Have A Warranty...and My Engine Light Would Come On And Off... But Finally One Day Is Cutt Off At Second Gear
