bad strut
Dont know if I'm the only one, but i got my car inspected last saturday, and i have a bad strut, its leaking. So i took it over to the dealership and they were great put another right on. But still i only have 8000 miles on the car, shouldnt need a new strut.
oh well, at least the dealer didn't hassle you
Was the strut making any weird sounds when you went over bumps? Cuz I think I may have a bad strut too. It makes a knocking sound whenever I go over a speed bump (left front side).

yeah it did make a funny noise over bumps, almost like a knock, and my problem was on my front drivers side. the best way to check is to jack the car and remove the tire and look around to see if here is any grease or oil that seems out of place behind the tire. or if you have access to a lift check it out there.
Brought mine into the dealer the other day and complained of rough ride. Dealer replace front springs and struts. No hassle. Ride has 30,000 but still struts should not blow so fast.
I'm having the same problem with the knocking noise from the driver's side. It only happens at low speeds. I took it to the dealer. They said it would cost $70 to look at it because my Goldline springs voided the warranty. I think I'm going to put new struts on the front. I have looked at the struts for fluid leak. So far I haven't noticed anything. Of course, I'm not sure where to look.
I saw a ton of goldish syrup lookign stuff sitting right on my springs on the left front strut. It was easy to see just by looking in the area above my tire under the fender. Yours may just not be that bad yet. My car isn't lowered though, it's stock so it's very easy to see.
Well, my front driver's side shock was blown. I replaced the front one's last night. I compressed the one that I suspected was blown. It went down, and never came back up. It's my fault. I drove the car really hard after putting my Goldlines on. I was so happy in the ride quality, I did consider the hell I was puttig them through would blow my strut.

That's funny. At first I thought the noise was coming from under my dash, but then I stuck my head out the window gonig down a rough driveway. it has to be the strut. mine only has 6500 on it.
