What Are The Signs Of An Auto Tranny Going???
well i only have like 21,800 miles on my tranny, fluid has never been flushed, i drive sort of hard but i dont beat on it. Say im going 60mph and there is a red light ahead, i start to brake slowly and once it gets between 3rd and 2nd gear i believe i get bucked foward, not a lot but its definatley noticable and i can hear the engine revving at high rpm's, makes it sound like a manual tranny downshifting. Now i know the auto trannys suck in general but is this the early warning signs of it going??? i mean i only have like 22,000 miles on it, seems a bit early for me. gearbox chime in on this please

yup he beat me to it. its nice living on farmland (flat roads) cause mine never has done that in 3 years. but it still likes to downshift even if i'm climbing a tiny hill at 25mph i'm like wtf why are you downshifting you stupid tranny.

yup believe it or not, that is a "new and better" feature of the 7thgen auto trans as advertised in the product book. When your trans starts to go, believe me you'll know. when it gets ready to shift, it will rev up 1-2k rpms like you put it in neutral before shifting. then one day soon you're driving along and boom, car doesn't move. i would say you have maybe 25% chance of making it past 100k miles without breaking.
