Exclamation Weird noise under the car (driving in rain)

I have a GReddy SP2 and I noticed that whenever I am driving in the rain, I hear a loud vibrating (metal) sound from the bottom of my car. (And I am not referring to the normal exhaust sound.) This happens only when I drive in the rain.

A mechanic friend of mine told me it is probably the heat shield under the Cat Converter that is too cold and causes the noise when I drive my car.

This started happening after I had Sway Bars installed. Never heard this noise before when I drove in the rain.

Anyone have this problem also? Or other thoughts on what might be causing this?

Thanks...

i would say the exhaust is hittin the sway bar..check to see if u have clearance. another thing could b the heatshields i just took all mine off b.c i knew they wouldnt clear at all. another one could be that the exhaust is hittin the body so thats another clearance issue..best thing for this is to get longer hangers from wat pplz tell me.

i don't think clearence is an issue b/c it only makes that noise in the rain. but it never made that noise in the rain before I had the sway bays put on. I'm just wondering why it happens in the rain ???

the exhaust expands b.c of the rain hittin the hot metal. it happens with alot of aftermarket exhaust and b.c u just put in sway bars the bars are probably making contact.

Thanks for your help, I found another thread where ppl talk about this. Do you know if this problem will damage my car if I do not do anything to remedy this? Some ppl suggested bigger hangers, heat wrap for the exhaust, removing the heat shields, etc. What is your thought on this? I am leaning toward the bigger hangers.
