CEL came on=== tranny slipping
yes, it finally happened to me at 58300 miles on an auto....i was turning left and while my speedometer was about 25 mph, the car just felt somebody "tapped" the brake eventhough my foot was off the brakes....then my CEL came on...im like wtf, than i realized the rpm was oddly idling a lot higher...
i think normal idling on neutral is 500, but on what happened it was at 1000
so i drove home and turned off my car, after 10 sec. i turned my car back on...then suddenly my tranny didn't slip anymore????
wat the hell is going??? my tranny slipped for the first time and after turning my car off and back on, the tranny slippage went away, but my CEL is on....so im going to drop off my car to honda....huuhhh another freakin expense....
tranny slippage is bs

get that code checked. a tranny doesn't just slip once and then stop. its a gradual process. I am taking a shot in the dark but it sounds more like the TPS sensor went bad. Go take it to autozone or something and let them tell you what the code means.

....great guess gearbox. I just had id checked and they said it was the TPS but i still need a full diagnostic to verify it is the sensor and not the tranny itself.
ANybody here had experience with TPS problem???

yea i did. made my auto act really weird and i couldn't shift out of gear. i was limping it home in 1st and second trying to keep in hi gear. It was a disaster for the auto trans. I swapped the throttle body (comes with new tps sensor), did the idle learn, and everything was fine.

ok got my cel checked and im a bit hesistant going to the dealership because they might suggest changing the TB and that thing is kinda expensive and kinda paying for diagnostics is sneaky of honda. So far i got P0122...and for my searching, my situation is a little bit different, my gears change but at 3500 rpm constantly, the car shiftsdown at 1500rpm and makes the car jerk like "torque stopping."
ANd the thing that "boggles" me is that when i turn off my car and back on, the shifting [B]goes back to normal [B/] but the CEL is still on of course....and sometimes the CEL turns off by itself....
P0122 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Low Input
....my question is, how did i get low circuit input on switch A? what does dat mean anyways???

thats what i had. it would drive normal after restart but as soon as i floored it bad things would happen. mine was hi input or something. but yea tps problem means swap the throttle body. see if you can find a used one here and try that. You wont solve the problem any other way unless you get a new sensor (they are not sold separately)
