SRS Light

Recently after starting the car, the SRS light stays lit for around 5 seconds. Is this a fault code or anything?

the SRS stays on for about 5 seconds then goes off if there is nothing wrong with the SRS system. it is doing a system check. if it stays on, then you have a problem.

its not really a problem a lot of people on this site have it stay on, mine stays on and has been reset 100 times

if it ever stays on there is a DIY on this site that tells you how to reset it.

that DIY only works if the system was working correctly but you disrupted something in the SRS system, like disconnecting a SRS component without disconnecting the battery. if there is a actual system fault, that reset wont help.

mine was staying on. it turned out alternator was overcharging. so check battery voltage with a volt meter while engine running, any over14.7 volts is too high.
