Okay... the last thing i did was put kamakazi headers on my 01 lx auto sedan. This was about 4 days ago, everything was running perfectly till i took it out this morning. I was just driving around normally, not flooring it or anything. then i came to a stop sign. After letting my foot off the brake and steppin on the gas, the car felt like it was gonna stall and dropped to 350 rpm's. I dropped it to neutral and revved it a few times thinking it was just carbon build up or something. It was fine for a few minutes but same thing happened when i came to a stop. So im not sure wtf is going on. The car actually hasnt died out but it does come pretty close. Keep in mind its an automatic. So far ive just bought some expensive tank additives thinkin its injectors or something. Tried some searching but couldnt really pull anything up on this matter as im not even sure wtf im lookin for. I tried yanking the plugs but their not even 6 months old and look pretty good. Oh and if you were thinkin that its the battery or alt, i checked those at Napa and everything checked out fine. I even had an oil change two weeks ago! RAWR! Could adding headers kill my car or something? lol well any advice here would be helpful.
did you reset the comp after you took them out??? you shoudl always unplug your battery when installing anything. if you did and reconnected it that shoudl reset your battery. if you didnt, try that then tell us what happens

does the engine have a very hard time revving even in neutral?
i had this same problem. I am convinced that it is water getting into some sensor. It only seems to happen when its raining, or when i drive quickly through a gutter or a puddle.
I had to sit there, trying to rev the engine for several minutes until it cleared up.

Yea, i always reset the ecu. Unplugged the battery then let it sit at idle for 20 minutes. And yup, the check engine came on after the ecu reset. I ordered a sim off ebay haha so i hope that clears the light, ive heard guys using resistors in the wire that leads back to the ecu but im not sure what wire to splice it into. Anyways back to the matter, as far as water concerns, it was pretty dry here in Hawaii so i doubt i have water problems. I did the same, drop it in neutral and gave it a few revs but it always comes back. It seems to only happen while its in drive. *pulls hair* i mean im gettin a new standard civic but the one im driving is my moms car so i wana fix it before i get my new one lol. I think ill try putting the stock headers back on if it keeps happnening throughout the week. But in the mean time, any other ideas? =)

you realize that a kamikaze RACE header on your lx is a huge mod right, especially for an auto.i almost wanna say there is not enough restriction which is causing the exhaust gas to move very slowly. and that 02 sim doesn't affect how the car drives. the primary 02 sensor is only used for a/f calculations.

but the 2ndary 02 sensor has no effect on performance? it only tells the car that emissions are okay. the primary calculates a/f ratio.

i dunno. It never did it when i had the 2nd O2.
I am well aware of the uses of the 2nd o2, but its the only thing i could possibly think of besides water.
It really makes no sense to me.

Yea, i was thinking there wasnt enough back pressure since its an auto but then again thats why i left my stock muffler on. But if it keeps up im ready to throw this bs away and buy my friends 02' 5 speed lx and just throw my mods on there. Think ill be fine with the kamakazi's on a STANDARD lx? =) but anyways, i checked plugs today and their clean as a whistle. hrm!

What code is it throwing, i assume secondary O2. If its on the car wont run properly. Especially modded. I doubt its because of less restriction, but more likely, lack of O2/sim

i don't think the header should affect the car that much tho. i mean not like you're describing. if there is no engine light, you may want to do the idle relearn if its just the rpm thats acting funny.

why don't i suggest something that might actually help.
reset the comp again. go for a test drive. see what happens.
if the same thing keeps happening, PUT THE STOCK HEADER back on.
reset computer. see what happens. if it does the same thing then its not your header.
there ya go
