cant drive in the rain

i cant drive in the rain anymore. everytime i hit a puddle, the right side of my car seems to start moaning REAL REAL loudly and everytime i apply the throttle, its EVEN louder. i also feel it in my shifter too. i have to pull to the side of the road and stop the car. and when i turn it on, i get a HORRIBLE sound like the ABS is clicking non-stop and then it will be all fine. is my ABS

my exhaust rattles when i hit a puddle of watter on the sway bar. i think the cold water hit the hot exhaust while it sits on the sway bar reacts it to bounce on the sway bar and mid-pipe.

There was a bullentin for this from Honda .. but if you were like me with an oversided aftermarket (2.5" pipe), perhaps you can have a muffler shop look into bending the pipe slightly lower.

An aftermarket exhaust will do that sound when hit water. The water makes the pipe cames cold rapidly this harden the metal then the sound. The "hard" pipe can't flex due to the car and engine vibrations. (Technically, in metal manufacturer this is how they do "heat-treatment" to a metal, of course with high temperatures.) Use a flexible union between the down-pipe and cat, or better after the cat.

About the wheel, I never heard something like that. But as the pipe becomes hard, the brake rotor did it too and bends when it hit water.

One last question... I still hear the noise NOT in the rain! It does feel like it is my exhaust! But there is no rain. I can hear it under idle at a stop light??? could my exhaust be broken again?? any oppinions would be greatly appriciated! THX

My opinion would be to check it out... get underneath your car and look carfully! Also you should check out your ''downpipe"(between header and cat). And if you modified your exhaust you didn't forget your gasket right? Hope you can solve your problem...

this is what happened to my car after i installe dthe exhaust cat pipe and header. the problem is there is too much tension on the exhaust system. so instead of allowing movement or flex at the header flange its all stiff and causing the exhaust to hit the body of the car under the shifter and ebrake assembly. i got my car on a lift and tried to fix it but was kind ***** footing around. basically i didnt want to take it all out and reinstall it. but that would have been the best idea. you need to bolt everything together then start form the back forward with the hangers and lastly bolt the header to the head. sthis should relieve any tension that the hanger and misaligned piping is causing. if not take it to a shop and have them mod your midpipe to pull the exhaust away from the body and realign the system correctly
