Intake Problem
Intake Problem
i have a AEM SRI intake. i got it about 5 months ago, and the other day i took a look at it and noticed a little crack on the top of the curve of the intake. would this be a big problem and should i replace my intake? i dont notice a difference in driving, however im a little concerned. thanks for the help
well the intake is vibrating violenty when your car is running. if you don't replace the pipe it could get worse. It might be defective but check the mount on it. I have the exact same intake but i havn't had it for long. I'll keep on the lookout for cracks. get back to me when you check that mount.

rattling against what? if its cracked i would suggest replacing it, but i suggest getting a different brand cause i remember seeing a post on here where someone was on there 3rd or 4th aem intake cause it kept cracking.
Check if you use the rubber mountings...
If it have a crack call aem or go where you bought it and claim for the warranty.
A little crack is not a big problem unless it is taking "dirt" air (a lot) trhough that crack. And maybe that crack will become bigger...

the v2 gets alot of mixed reviews. my friend really likes his v2 intake and from people who've had AEM SRI and the V2 they said the v2 actually pulled a little harder. i wanted a v2 its just that they're overpriced. yes they're better, but not for the money.

look at weapon-r they actually put design and testing into their intakes. when is the last time aem flow tested a filter. oh wait they dont need to because their filter design is still from 1980.
