M/T Weird symptom after long drive.
05 MT, 8-9k on the car at the time.
Happened last summer but curious if anyone knows/had this problem.
So anyways this happened two times. Drove for 5-6 hrs at approx avg of 140km/h (with an hour of break in between) in 5th gear with foot on footrest. Then when i finally got off the highway and fully stopped at the stop sign, started out in 1st gear and the clutch grabbed much harder and quicker than normal. If i'm not careful it would want to stalll. I thought my legs must be tired? Nope. It happened everytime for atleast few hours. However, the problem was gone the next day. 15000km on the car as of today and no problem with the clutch, and tranny shifts very smooth.
I couldn't think of any reason why the clutch would grab instead of slipping due to heat or possible oil leak pass seals? I've track the car twice and did not have this problem with the abuse plus another 4 hrs of driving.
Any comments are welcome.

stuff happens when the car gets very hot from driving 2+hrs non stop. my exhaust gets really loud and the engine feels more responsive. its prolly nothing to worry about and will happen again on the next long trip.
Yea i'm not worry about the car, however just curious what is wrong (i'm an 2nd year automotive tech student but can't figure this out lol).
Had a dozen of long drives but never again encounter this problem again. Oh well

I have driven my 2002 Civic Si Coupe non-stop cross country a few times. I have had similar issues with the sensitive clutch. Not only off the line, but where I usualy could feather the gas off and on in first and second in traffic, it would become impossible when the car has been on the highway for a day straight. The car would jerk back and forth when I ease off and on the pedal. I think the hot clutch grabs better. Or maybe there is some sort of centrifugal force making the oil come off the plates if there is any lubricant in there. I wish I knew more about cars!
