is it too late for the MIL eliminator?
is it too late for the MIL eliminator?
so i've been having my check engine light on for about a month now, due to the aftermarket header i put in...so recently i noticed that my car has lossed ridiculous amount of power, its really slow, and its eating gas like CRAZY, u can literaly see my gas go down,so i was told its cuz the check engine light, so im basicaly just waiting for it in the mail, but is it still going to work?
i have an LX, and the guy i bought the wires from, he says when the check engine light is on, that it puts the computer in "default mode" and it affects ur AIR/FUEL ratio, and also affects timing, which makes sense, so i think its cuz of the CHeck engine light, and that light is on cuz of the headers
yeah the spark plug fouler works instantly, once u put it on it drive couple miles and cel should turn off. Ive only seen it work on ex exhaust systems where the cat is located on the bottom of the car, but Im sure itwould work for lx models as well. Just make sure u fouling the right sensor that detects the cat only and not the primary sensor
well, i'm not sure if im familiar on the ex sensors are located, but on an lx, their is one on the top of the manifold, than it looks like the cat, and THAN the secondary sensor, and i'm thinking its the secondary sensor that picks up the CEL.
when you put an aftermarket header in your lx you take of the cat and bolt the secundary o2 directly to the header, What I found in the web was that you can't bolt the secundary o2 directly to the exhaust because is going to reed to much A/F mixture and the Fu*&(^ check engine light comes alive, that's when the non-fouler comes to separate the o2 from the exhaust.
the none-fouler comes with 2 parts one of them you have to leave stock and the other one bore out w 1/2 drill. The o2 goes to the one you drill and the stock one to the exhaust.

well yea, the seconday one doesnt affect any, it just makes the engine light turn on cuz the secondary sensor is reading different air, so by the CEL coming on, thats what affex it, since it puts my computer on "default mode" thats why, hey but what do u mean the other stock non fouler goes to the exhaust? for an LX both sensors are on the header itself, can some1 draw me a sketch, or something, sorry for being such a noob at it, but when it comes to doing something "exact" i dont wanna screw up

I have the mil eliminator on mine. But what I was told by the tuner shop, its a resistor unit that bypasses ****. As for gas mileage, since I got a VP/DX, I manage to maintain a total of 420 miles with lesser than a gallon left in the tank. This includes with 215/35/R18 wheels, CAI, headers, and axle back exhaust. But then again, I had done some weight deduction to my car such as back seats and some other stupid heavy weight components.
i tried the mil eliminator, it didnt work, so now im gonna try the non fouler, but do i need 8mm non foulers, or which size? and should i just leave the eliminator connected to the sensors or should i take it off??
