Utiliity one, tell them about the fuse man, and I hope some civic bro on here can help you out, give as many details as you can , auto trans, fuse going out 7.5 amp, etc. hopefully someone on here will know, there are some knowledgeable civic owners on here......

so is it just shifting at 2000rpms or staying at 2000rpms? are all the gears toping out at 2000rpms? pretty odd problem you got there. might be some kind of electrical short if it goes away when you unplug your battery.

Your best bet is a $30 code reader from ebay. Find out what the code is, and then you should know what's really wrong.

your problem is occuring because of your check engine light. something is causing your vehicle to be in safe mode. Once you diagnosis why the check engine light is on, youtr problem will disappear.

why not go to autozone, have them check the code for free, then let us know what the code is and we can help you. If your not under warranty, it will be cheaper.

hey sounds like the same problem that has been with me for the past 5 months....i have a manual 2001 lx and ill be driving then all of a sudden it bogs down completely and wont pass 3000rpms...does your car backfire a lot when this happens? i got the code scanned and it came up as P0172 system too rich i had it a shop for about 2 weeks b/c honda would charge too much..they couldnt find the problem so i just dropped it off at honda and immediately they found that there is a faulty TDC sensor..cylinder heads, they said it might be more but i will keep posting...you might have the same problem...hope this helps

Try possibly checking your grounds. If you are expiriencing a voltage drop, ecu could be sensing this going into limp mode actuating rev limiter.

Honda found the problem and the car is working fine it was just the TDC sensor, and suprisingly the total was only $244 they did full diagnostics and everything...
