i got a 01 civic dxg, stick. 80,000km.

i don't have a remote (yeah ghetto), but it's what i use to lock my door when i leave my civic.

i can lock all 4 doors at once by double turning the key, but i cannot unlock all 4 doors with the key.
i tried double turning the key on the door and also holding the turn for at least 5 seconds. Nothing happens.
what i have to do is unlock the driver's door and use the power lock inside to unlock all 4 doors, this is a pain.

is it a wiring problem? how much would it cost to fix and how long would it take? i thought about getting an aftermarket remote (not starter) installed but was wondering if this problem could have any effect on it. Would getting a keyless entry remote fix this problem?

i'm not too sure, it doesn't seem normal to me. But this is my 1st civic and the people i know that have civics all have LX; they have a remote to open with :P
nobody i know opens their civic with a key like mine. so tell me is it normal for my dxg?
