OEM Floor mats, but not hooked up?
I have the OEM floor mats that comes with a set of hooks and screw, but the interior carpeting doen't have the cuts as the diagram shows to screw in them hooks. I have three options:
1) Leave it as is. Results are not good, the floor mat keep moving up.
2) Cut it myself. Results are not favorable either, I don't have good skills to cut carpeting, and I may cut in the wrong place.
3) Take it to the dealer. Results may also be negative, since they are human also, they may mess it up also.
What do you think?

i got the oem all season floor mats, they stay in place themselves and wont fall apart, plus they match my black interior pretty well ive cleaned mud off them a couple times already, so they were definitely a good choice for me
i would say let the dealer do it if youre worried about screwing it up, since as 01excoupe said, if they screw up, they have to fix it.. but theyve probably done it many times before and know exactly where to cut

Go and get it done at the dealer. The odds are that they wont screw it up. If anything you might wanna even ask a salesperson, they might know how to do it for you.

I had mine installed at the dealer when I bought the car. The screws don't go into the floor. They actually go under the seat adjustment. Place the mat flat against the seat mount and look where the hooks go. Mark it with a punch or razor and have at it. No one will see the cuts. It doesn't look all the difficult.
Diznavis, they are the carpeted ones, but they also have the spikes on the back. I guess the thing that threw me off is that there are two holes on the drivers side floor mat, that are located just under the seat. I have no idea why they are there. The mats came with some screws or clips or something, but I cant find them, I think I threw them in my trunk with my spare tire. have any idea why they are there?

I installed OEM floormats myself, but then again the slits were already there in my carpet. Still, it is not tough to do with a box cutter. As long as you have the instructions and know where to slice you should be all set. No one will notice if you cut too much. It's not a very noticeable area. The dealer will probably want big $$$ to help you out. But I suppose it is worth checking with them. If the price is reasonble then letting the dealer do it would be the best bet. Otherwise get that box cutter ready!

Thanks, Rebew, thats kinda what I figured. But the hooks can stay back there cause my mats arent goin anywhere. I just thought it was weird the holes were there if the mats are secure anyhow.
But thanks! all you guys are great
