On going problem with dealer

Just last fall I got Honda to install fog lights and it costed me $200! I thought if anything went wrong I could blame them. Oh and did things ever go wrong.

1)noticed a fresh scratch after install(across rear window and paint)
-they didn't tell me about the scratches
-Honda payed for new window and paint job
2)had to wait 5 days to get window
-never called when they got it in(took 7 days)
3)fixed scratch, made new one, didn't replace window
4)fixed scratch, replaced window
still not perfect but still complained sum more.

Over all it took 14 days(included rebooking), and 4 of which was spent getting fixed. The service guys at Honda still treated me very well and gave me a 2002 Ford Explorer to use while my car was in the shop. At the end I complained about all the problems and I asked for rebates off my next few visits to Honda. Now I'm kind of happy but I don't want to take my car back for anything.

THE END?

No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess not. Well, today when I was washing my car I noticed some of my paint was peeling. I was so angry I could kill. The paint should last more than 3 months. WHAT DO YOU THINK I SHOULD DO??? WHAT SHOULD I ASK FOR???

Go to a different dealer. Complain to the big boys of Honda of America. Demand you feel like you want some extras since you went through so much sh't and wasted time just for foglights.

Over all the people at Honda treat me very well, I talk to them alot. Its just the guys in the back there totally bad news. Its like they don't care how well there work is done.
The bad thing about me is that I live in a small city with only one Honda dealer. Why I don't DIY is because I'm not to good at the electrical aspect.

Yeah I'm thinkin about putting oem fogs on my civ, but now cause what you said, i might do it myself. The Honda dealer around here is pretty cool but they could go bad just like the dodge dealer that i took my old car to. Who knows?

it sounds to me like your dealer is taking the right steps to maintain a good level of customer service... if after all that you can say "now i'm kind of happy"...

If the business relationship is still positive with your dealer, don't take it higher than that... all you're going to accomplish is having your dealer bitter towards you.

It's too bad your service took so long, I had a similar situation regarding my seat which is now fixed and I have a free oil change and some free touch up paint. Give them another chance - to get thrings right. Hopefully that one will go well and you will feel comfortable leaving your car in their hands.

i had a problem with a dodge dealer, took my 88 omni in to get the linkage fixed, when i got the car back it wouldnt start right from the very first time i drove it (it started perfectly every single time before that), and when i took it back and complained, they charged me $50 to say it needed a battery. i could see the charge if i had just brought it in for that, but the ONLY reason i brought it to them is because it happened all of a sudden while they had the car (im still not convinced they didnt steal my good battery and put a bad one back in its place, what are the odds that my battery would go from perfect operation to barely starting the car about 10 times then dying all together while they had the car for 1 day)
