I don't know why you people complain so much about your Honda Civics. I live in Puerto Rico and I have the same situation in my car that many of you has and I paid more money for my Civic then all of you.

I paid for my Civic Ex the following:

1. 2001 Civic Ex - $23,500.00
2. Insurence ----- $3,000.00
3. APR % ---------------------- 13.95% at 6 years
-------------------------------------------
Total of ----------- $26,500.00 plus the APR for the 6 years

Now that is something to be angry. But in Puerto Rico you have to pay that if you want to buy an Honda.

I think the big question here is: Why don't you complain MORE?

People just expect so much of the Civic AFTER they've paid so much for "the most popular aftermarketed car" ... but now, that rank is held by the newer Integra, the RSX.

Mine was $20Gs, 2002 EX. I don't complain. In fact I didn't expect much of it. (Damn, this orange juice is good... wait, somebody spiked it...) I like my car the way it is STOCK. If you don't like this car STOCK then why get one and just expect hella stuff to come out for it? For $20Gs... I dare won't complain. My mind may change, but if I can't depend on aftermarketers to help xhange the car to perform better then that's the loss of who ever's depending on them... babai!

This section is the "Complaining" section. Thank goodness I don't live in PR, I'd get myself a Lexus for that kind of dough. Another thing, I'd never get a loan for 13.XX%. I have good credit, the most I'd paid is about 8-9%, 5 years.

He certainly doesn't have anything to complain about, he lives in PR.

I always thought stuff from the States was cheaper... $20k for a Civic US Dollars.. OUCH... I bought my Civic Si(EX) 2002 for $21k Canadian... with the 40% exchange rate.. it'd cost $12,600 US. Heated mirrors too, and different rims... if those mean anything

You know what?.........for those how said that I paid a lot because I live in PR. That's because we in PR get the better build cars from the factory and those who buy their cars in US get the others. Sorry but thats the truth. I paid 23K for my Civic but I don't have to many complains about it.

<< god damn and I thought I got ripped off at 20k for my EX >>

Same here, after I looked at a previous post on how much people paid for their cars, and I figured... hey... I dunno how to car shop, especially if my friend can go outside of my area, and get a brand new 2002 Honda Accord LX sedan for $12,000 WITH added features. You gotta learn how to haggle with the dealers... come in there and be like, "I'm looking for a good price on a car and if I don't get one here, I'm just gonna go to Pontiac, Lexus, or Toyota to see what they can offer me," cuz you gotta seem really serious and they DON'T want to lose a deal. Sh't, I should be paying 20k for a 2001 Type R... but that's okay. (Private seller.)

Well, when the people in this forum bought their civics, i'm sure they expected the quality that honda normally offers, and that isn't so with the new civic, for the most part. I expected at least the quality level of my '91 Accord, but that didn't happen. I'm overall disappointed, so there is validity in our complaining. With all these 'GM' style build-quality problems, a new EX should be 12,000 bucks.....but Honda is making lots of money while lowering production quality.

Dang guys...I paid $17,500 out the door for my 2001 ex financed at 6.95% Where do you guys get these high interest rates?? Not trying to be a bitch...I just thought all interest rates on new cars was pretty much the same. I think I could have gotten him out of a little more money though. My sticker price was like $19,700 I think. So he made plenty of money off of me. Oh well Over all I am happy with my civic EXCEPT FOR THE SHUTTING OFF PROBLEM! Check out the post if you get a chance.

Maybe I should move to Florida... well, Oakland Cali is the worse place to buy a car. Anywhere else surrounding it, I hear that you're bound to get a better price.
