Could it be the tranny? Already?
Ok. Been boosted for 5 months. Limited at 7.5psi. Everything was fine until today on the way to work there was a huge traffic jam. I noticed that, while in the stop and go traffic, my car would idle high. Like around 1400RPM. Never did that before. I mean, after being stopped, when I let off the break, it would just go, even uphill, like I was on the gas, but I wasn't. Hmm.
Then, on the way back from work, every time the tranny would downshift (I have an auto), the RPM would spike 300-800RPM with each downshift. Hmm.
And then...on the way from the cleaners, I kept smelling a burning smell. Like rubber burning. My wife kept saying it was another car. I pulled over, popped the hood, no burning smell. I said, ok, I'm paranoid. Hmm.
And then...On the way out of Burger King, first, my car went into safe mode! Haven't felt that since I first got the turbo and got it fixed. I thought the eManage keeps it turned off? Then, the tranny feels like it's not catching from neutral to 1st, but it's a different kind of feeling. As if the car is not getting any fuel, cause when I get to about 10mph, everything is fine. Hmm.
My A/F gauge is not working right now, so I can tell if it's loosing fuel or not. I figure it's the tranny, but would the tranny going out do the RPM spikes? The Safe Mode? Hmm.
My friend just told me that it sounds like my torque converter, but when I pulled into the garage and got out, the exhaust sounded wierd. All bubbly and stuff. Sorta like a bong! Hmm.
I know I know. Need to take it to a shop, and I plan too. $$ is low right now though (worst time this could of happened). Any ideas?

i wouldn't doubt it. this car is a pos. and it definately sounds like the tranny is slipping. that burning smell was the bands in the tranny going out.

it only smells when you're driving and the tranny is under load. it won't do anything at idle P or with the car off. i know, the same happened to moms accord. they told us later what happened and that the tranny doesn't have much time. i would have a shop look at it cause it you keep driving eventually it will just rev in gear and not move. then its new tranny time.
