oh well to start the seat has to come out and then replace with new bushings (which I guess you can get from the dealer). I have no idea how to replace bushings tho.

There was a TSB on rocking drivers seat problem. Like it was said before, it is caused by the height adjustment mechanism. If the dealer chooses to fix it, they will replace the plastic part with a metal one. Usually, they will fix it if it is still under warranty. However, if the warranty is out, the deciscion is up to each individual dealer. You must ask for it directly to be considered. They will not offer it to you automatically.
I tried taking to dealer, since we have 01s the warranty is out. I just wish I took it to the dealer before my warranty expiered. oh well its too late now... I just got used to it..

Actually you dont need to replace the bushings. It was a poor design on the hight adjuster. What you need to do is take out the seat and remove the side guards of track and replace the plastic bushings with metal washers, you need about 3 of them. When you remove the plastic guard you'll see that frame is held together with 2 large bolts. Remove those bolts and the bushings should slide out, replace those with the metal washers and put it all back together. BTW for the EX just unplug the 3 wire clips under the seat for the airbag, I didn't have any problems with srs light and I didn't disconnect the battery. My seat is acting up again so if a DYI doesn't get done anytime soon I'll take the liberty of doing so. Hope this helps.

See heres thing they tell you that they tell replace the broken parts with better ones but in actuallity they use the parts that will break. The only real way to solve this is to fix it yourself. Yes of course they know about the problem with seat but they wont fix it, they can't and if they do you'll have problems with it in few weeks.
