well, i started up my car after 2 days of not driving it. i let it warm up for a min or two. i gave it a quick couple of stabs on the gas to hear the intake and then all of a sudden a LOUD knock came from the motor...i immediately turned it off and went to pop the hood. i could smell something burning that wasnt normal. does anyone know what this is? and if it helps, i have a auto tranny.

Well in the worst case scenario, you sucked up something through the intake and fried something (cylinder/piston, ring, etc...). But then again im a newb haha. Did you try starting it up after that?

hrm, i guess but its been inside the garage the whole time so i dont know how anything would be in there... and plus, the intakes a SRI and ive only had it on for about like 400 miles if even.

hmmmm could possibly rod knock. but that would be if u got water in the engine. i really dont know i wish i could help man
