dashlight issue!

I have an '01 DX with factory CD player which I replaced with a Pioneer 6700. I used an aftermarket plug to bridge the factory connection to the new cd player. All connected fine except the aftermarket plug had 2 orange wires, the cd player 1 orange wire. I joined all together. Everything worked except dash illumination - out in all 3 locations - guage cluster, fan/heat/temp. cluster and console gear selector cluster. I reinstalled the factory cd player - still no lights! I have checked all fuses with a test light - all passed. I have checked illumination bulbs - all intact. I removed guage panel from dash and inspected dimmer switch on circuit board of - no evidence of a burn. Is there an inline fuse? Are there relays in this system? Please help - I'm "driving in the dark."

yea i did the same thing, uh unfortunatly you grounded out the dimmer switch, burning all the traces inside the dash, there is no inline fuse for this
since it is a dx i would suggest a new gauge cluster with a tach good luck

P.S. to mods > someone should sticky a topic like this so people at least have a warning about the illumination and dimmer wires...
