lights flickering??
ok i just noticed this the other day, and i don't know whats wrong....whenever my radio is on (all the time) and my headlights/dashlights are on, i notice that the dash lights flicker when the bass hits. Does anyone know why this is happening? My amp is only 600w...and i just hooked up my indiglo gauges.....but it was doin this before i hooked em up....thanks for any help/answers.

an alternator is overkill to a simple problem imo... unless money is not an issue! Just buy a 1 farad capacitor for under $100 and I think dimming will go away. I need to get around to buying one

Holy Jesus these answers are some of the least intelligent one's I've ever heard

..
all you need is a 1 farad capacitor to help stabilize voltage to prevent the dimming.... Some minor dimming is not bad at all. It just means your voltage is dropping during bass hits. which it does do. A 600 watt amp doesn't warrant any electrical system upgrades... Just make sure your running 4 guage power and ground wires and get a Capacitor to keep yur voltage stable so your lights don't dim... Onlinecarstereo.com Is selling 1 Farad Lightning audio Strike series caps for $89 shipped..might wanna grab one of those.
Cheers

battery or cap is only a bandaid to the real problem, the only way to fix it is with a bigger alternator. worth $300? nope. does it really bug you that much? just like having a neon music controller for your headlights >=p

it's a bandaid to controll dimming. Dimming can get you a ticket for imitating a police officer if it's bad enough. They think you have strobe headlights.. my friend got pulled before for it..he didn't get a ticket. Once he told the cop what was happnin dude just burst out laughing
