oil leaking out of valve cover

I got a big problem, my engine is leaking oil out of a couple of valve cover bolts that i finally realized that were stripped out. I got some lock-tite aluminum repair kit and it helped the bolts out a little bit, but im still leaking(or burning) about 1/2 a quart a week. Should i just tap a bigger bolt in the head?

And in the case of burning oil, how can i tell if i am?

Yes. A small amount of oil burning will show up when you step on the accelerator. BTW, I suggest you helicoil the stripped bolt hole and use the original bolts to do a proper repair rather than tap and put a larger bolt in.

SO what's stripped out agian? I seem to be a little lost on what is stripped, is it the valve cover bolts? If so you can replace the studs. I don't recomend going to long in this condistion, the wrong loads on the valve cover can kill the cam baring.

Yes. Helicoil. It is the proper way to do a threaded hole repair in metal. You aren't the first nor will you be the last person who has damaged a threaded hole. A Helicoil kit is the proper way to repair the damage so it is nearly good as new again.
