Two quick questions

03 civic ex. 45k miles. Today i took out my air filter to check and i open up throttle plate and inside the throttle plate, ( not on the top portion of it but inside the throttle plate portion), i saw black greese. Is it normal ? or i should clean it up. and if yes. what shold i use ?

2: Outside of the winshield (front), plastic that holds it in place (bottom one) is kind of pilled off a bit. How do i stick it back ? what kind of glue shold i use ?

Please advise.

Thanks

for your first question. do you have an intake? you shouldnt have any grease in the throttle body, thats not normal. dirt and dust is normal. if its grease, wipe it off and then start the car with the airbox off. get a can of throttle body cleaner and spray it into the throttle body in short bursts. you'll have to play with the throttle cable so the car doesnt choke and die out. your exhause fumes will be black when you're doing this. keep doing this until its clean. if its heavily soiled, use a wire brush.

i dont know about your second question, sorry.

you're supposed to spray the throttle body cleaner while the car IS running. remeber, the car will want to die out because you're really choking it. to keep this from happening, you'll have to open and shut the throttle (by hand using the wire) and rev up the engine.

as for question 2, take it to a shop they have a special glue that is used for applying windshields, im assuing thats what you want. if the molding (rubber ) is coming off you can use super glue to put it back down and if the plastic piece under the hood covering your wiper motor is coming off a clip mightbve broken so take it off and look.

i dont think you can get that glue at autozone and if you can, dont cus its hard to work with, if you get it on your hands and it rests for a little while (like a few minutes) your gonna take like 5 minutes of scrubbing and scrubbing your hand to get it off and thats with the grease soap mechanics use.
