Rep Power: 0 Check engine light?
So, my check engine light is staying on...
I filled up the gas tank then drove the car for about 60 miles only stopping once for about an hour. Then, after I had been home for about 2 hours, I went back out. When I started the car, the light stayed on. I checked the manual and tightened the gas cap more, then drove somewhere and stopped for about an hour. The light is still staying on. I have no mods to my intake or exhaust systems (all stock).
Does anyone know how long it takes to reset if it was just the gas cap?
Or, is there another way to get the light to turn off?

Rep Power: 0 take it to an autoparts store and have them scan your codes for you. it's free and it'll tell you what's wrong.
if you don't wanna bother with taking it somewhere to erase your codes, you can do it yourself.
1) turn your ignition on (not run)
2) pull your #6 ECM fuse for > 10 seconds
good luck!

Rep Power: 347 Turn off your car... open your gas cap then close it. Click the gas cap closed like 10 clicks just to make sure.
If you're CEL is still on... pull the ECU fuse in the fuse box under the hood for about 10mins... then plug it back in.
If you're still getting a CEL, take it back to the dealer or any shop and get them to scan the code.

Yes, but this way resets your radio too
Anyway, check out the sticky thread on this topic. I would go to Autozone and have it checked just to make sure it isn't somehting else.
