Auto Tranny Problem
Ok my trannies making a weird noise. When my car is cold (not warmed up), and I pull up to a stop light and come to a complete stop, my tranny will start making this noise... dadadadadaddadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadaddadada a...it's pretty fvcking loud. Now... if I throw it in Neutral... the noise goes away but when I put it back in Drive... the noise comes back.
This only happens when I'm fully stopped while my car is in gear and my tranny is cold. The noise goes away when the car is warm.
Anyone know what this may be? I'm about to change my tranny fluid but I'm thinking it might be a waste of money if I have to have it serviced anyways.

how many miles went on the auto tranny?
do you ever use the D2, D3, or bother neutral dropping that may have caused some damage to it?
i would change the atf either way, its about $3 per quart and its worth a shot.
could it be the engine thats making the noise and vibration?

This sounds like what happen to mine. It would do it only when it was cold and after it was warn the problem would go away. Well, eventually the tranny gave out at a red light, had to push the damn car out of the streeet (fu.c.k I was pissed). Anyway as far as fixing it, i don't know. Take it to the dealer and have them look at it before you get stranded somewhere. i got mine replaced with a brand new one for free

I know for a fact it's the tranny cause when I get the dadadadadadaa noise I'll shift it into neutral the noise disappears. When I put it back into drive... the noise comes back.
I got about 70,000kms on my car.
Edit: yes I've neutral dropped
only at the track (about 5 times). And when I'm bored I select my own gears.
I know it's bad for the tranny but that's what the warranty is for... hehe... I just want to know if any of you guys can pin point the cause.

well that doesn't mean anything. My exhaust rattles in drive but when I put it to neutral it stops. Could be any number of things in the engine bay as well. Do you have...strut bar, new intake, header, or hids?

This never happend till about a couple months ago and I've had my intake and strut bar in their for over a year and a half.
hmmm... I had the same problem, it's a piece of the transmision, if you keep going, you'll start to notice a horrible whining noise while you accelerate...better take it to the dealer soon, the piece costs about 60 dollars...nothingthe warranty won't cover
Don't know if you have this problem still but I recently noticed this problem after pulling out of a mall parking lot. My dad was sitting beside me and told me to put it in neutral, raise the revs a bit and then back to D. The sound stopped once I did that.
It has something to do with the tranny not shifting back into 1st when you stop and causing the revs to burble a bit since they end up a bit lower than idle apparently. Happens to me if i pull out then let go of the gas immediatly after it shifts to 2nd.
