this is the first time this has happened to me ever, my cars a 2001 civic ex 4dr manual.. i was at a redlight with my friend next to me in a 6th gen and it turned green we dropped it yada yada.. moving along.. i hit 3rd gear and right at 4600-4800rpms, it feels like my rev limiter is kicking in.. and this is only for 3rd gear.. it was pushing my car down, i lost the race lol.. and im just worried now im sorta like that Monk dude on USA cuz that check engine light..i gotta know whats wrong with my baby
can anyone help .. thanks
can anyone help .. thanks Well if your check engine light is one its probably because a the specifid service intervals on your odometer came up.
Does the Maintence req'd light blink when you start the car? or blink and then stay solid?
Try truning off your car
Turn it to II
Hold your trip reset button for 10 seconds
start your car with the button depressed.

Agressiveadam, you are talking about the maintenance required light. That is different. That light doesn require your car to act weird.
