AC Compressor Clutch

I turned on my car today and here a loud noise from the ac compressor. I start driving and my AC compressor clutch pops off the car?? ???? Now I have no ac and its like 100 degrees out here. I am out of warranty and bitched at honda to fix it since its obviously a defect in manufacturing. They want me to pay an $80 diagnostics fee before they decide if they want to fix it for free or not.........I know what they want to do! They want me to pay the fee and then they aren't going to pay for ish! This sucks, What should I do??? Anybody selling an ac compressor?

Is the car still under warranty? If yes, everything should be covered for free.

If no, then I would go ahead and pay what they are asking ... can't live without AC in that kind of weather.

no warranty, but I think they should still honor it. I mean the clutch literally just fell off...yes a noise and then off it flew.

Re: AC Compressor Clutch

Anyone else have this problem? Is there a TSB or Recall regarding this issue?

Mine did the same thing. No warranty for me, either.

Personally, I think it is a defect, but I'm sure that some would argue that point. Oh, and it's hot in here!!

Damn, mine did the same thing! Nut came loose, and it popped off. What did you guys do to fix it? Looks like a new one can just be put on.
