Unhappy 1st Gear Bogg Down on Launch.....WTF NOW?!?!?!? **UPDATE!!**

OK...little background on the car.

About 48,000 Miles or 78,000 kilometers
AEM CAI
DC 4 into 1
DC TCS Cat-Back

I was out doing a little racing and for the last while I've been having a problem getting the car to come clean out of first gear.

It seems to bogg down really bad off the line and climb real slow until about 4500 RPM's and then all is fine from there on out through to 5th gear. I'm launching with about 3,000 RPM's behind me and not spinning at all.

Someone suggested my that my fuel injectors might be fugged up but I can't be sure what's causing this to happen.

I just had the valves done a week ago and I thought that would help some but it didn't do anything in this regard.

Anyone ever experience this? Any input or ideas?

thanks!

Try some greased lightning fuel system cleaner. It works wonders with the whole car, especially at that high mileage.

Ya, I'll give that a try for sure.

I think you have new plugs, but change them if you don't. NGK iridium are good. Also look at the usual stuff like air filter, tranny fluid, oil, etc. Maybe you need a valve adjustment?

Ya, I just got the NGK Iridiums a couple of weeks ago and had the valves adjusted last week. Maybe it's time to replace the filter since its a little beat up now.

Got some fuel system treatment today. Couldn't find Grease Lightning but I got some Penzoil stuff. We'll see how that goes.

Well okay. I don't know how well those cheaper ones work. Should have at least gotten redline or something. But try it anyway. Maybe it will help. You really want something to clean the entire system and not just injectors.

Meh. Couldn't hurt I guess. Also you should clean your throttle body with some spray cleaner. Just take off the intake, open up the valve, and stick a cloth around the sides. I bet it's gonna be dirty.

Is there a cleaner I can use for that? Or would a rag inside be enough?

There is a spray cleaner. They're all the same thing, so brand doesn't matter. Spray some on the cloth and wipe the TB with it.

Failing all of this stuff I'm bringin the car by my dealer on Monday so my mechanic can take it for a tear and hook up the puter to it. We'll see if that yields anything.

Update Here!!

So today I went to a new dealership to have my car checked out for a problem it's had since year one. I guess I got inspired after the Letter I wrote Honda Canada last night regarding all the ish that's gone wrong with this engine....

anyway - I have the head technician and the shop manager come out to look at the car and test drive it.

After going through the HUGE list of what's been replaced he suggests and asks the following...

1) Had the other dealership done a base idle adjustment? Ans: I'm not sure.

2) He suggests they change the throttle body because the TPS sensor may be bad and you can't change it out without getting a whole new throttle body.

So I have to back to my dealer to get this done because the powertrain warranty has passed and they can justify the part change based on the service record they have for the car.

ahhhh. This is annoying.
