Been nice reading this board . . . I've sold my Vic

Well, after three Hondas -- one that rusted so bad the windshield cracked (80 Accord), one that was a freakin blast to drive (87 Si), and one that just never felt right, mainly because 2nd gear never shifted like it should (02 LX) -- I just bought a new car, an 04 Camry SE.

I decided against even looking at the Accords because Honda/Acura and BMW are the only two companies that block access to TSBs on Alldata, and that really makes me wonder if they have something to hide or is just an indication of how little they trust their customers. For what its worth, I sold the Civic to Carmax for 10K: it's spotless, has 14,500 miles, and a Sony MP3 deck with two amps. I haven't seen it on their website yet; the only thing wrong with it is second gear. I picked up the Camry for under 20K - with moonroof, 215/60 alloys, foglamps, automatic, spoiler - all from emailing a lot of dealers and using them against each other, which lowered the price by $3,000 from MSRP (and that kind of lowering doesn't void your warranty ).

I'll leave y'all with one last thought. If anyone in the DC area has time to go to NHTSA's "reading room", you could print out any TSB you wanted for free . . .and then post them here.

According to NHTSA:
All TSBs can be viewed and/or copied during our public hours of 9:30 A.M. - 4:00 PM. The Reading Room is in Room 5110 at 400 7th St., S.W., Washington, DC.

Later.

Good luck with your Camry ... can't get much more reliable than that.
But it's definitely more of a family car than anything else.

good luck man.

after having a great experience with a 91 Integra, i figured i couldnt go wrong getting another Honda (01 Civic)... but after my experience with the POS civic, and POS Honda service, i'm gonna go Toyota myself, for my next car.

My honda has been the best car I've ever owned. It's been wonderful to drive but I bought a Honda for reliability and that it's starting to lose. My tranny is fubar after not even 3 years of driving (no warranty though) and my next car is likely to be a Toyota too.

Honda really messed up when they redesigned the civic this last time. There's way to many problems for what is supposed to be one of the best cars on the market.
