Automatic Transmission problem...HELP!

I was comin down this huge dip in the road and went over a chunk of curb or stone or something, I have a 2'' drop, needless to say it scraped and bumped all over the underside of my car. Ok, so everything seems ok, body kit not hurt, all my piping seems fine, but there's definetly somethin goin on w/ my tranny. When I shift the tranny from park to reverse, the stick is in between reverse and park even though I'm in reverse and my gauge cluster also indicates that I'm in reverse. When my car's in drive, the stick is in between drive and neutral, even though the cluster indicates I'm in drive. WTH is goin on, my car's not under warranty, I really need help. Thanks.

When the stick is in between gears, do you actually feel that it is held properly inside the notch? Or is it actually in between notches?

If it is inside the "notch" then I don't think it's that serious. I'm guessing that the gear indicator next to your shifter just got knocked out of position.

If it was me, I'd bite the bullet and let a Honda Authorized Service center look at it.

When the stick says that it's in between the drive and neutral or park and reverse, I can feel it actually in the notch for drive and in the notch for reverse. I don't get how the gear indicator could get misaligned from what happened or what to do about it. anybody know?

you probably messed up your tranny from the rock you hit. jack up your car and take a look around. honda will definately not fix it for free even if your car is under warranty if you caused it, i.e hitting the rock.

I don't think so ... he said everything was working properly (even the lights in his gauge cluster) and his shifter rests properly in its notches, which is the most important thing. Like I said before, I think it's just a cosmetic issue with the gear indicator being misaligned.

The trans is probably ok, but as for aligning the indicator back up, I'm not really sure what that would involve.

My guess is that the bracket that holds the shift cable is bent.
