Lightbulb CEL Problem Solved!

This is for those peepz who have a header and straight pipe (high flow cat) and wonder why the CEL comes on...well after having my Top Speed Stainless Steel Header and High Flow Cat on for about 5 months now, i can finally say that my CEL has FINALLY GONE away for good!!

I checked both my O2 sensors in the car - the one goin to the intake and the one under the car attatched to the high flow cat. Checked them out and everything was ok...note that prior to this my CEL had been on for a couple months...

I drive to Modesto and gas up at the Exxon station...(cheap gas)....and the light is still on.....and after partying during the weekend I gas up at Chevron (89 octane/white)...and on my way home back to Sac, my CEL goes off....the light just turns off....

So i'm like alrite, it does that once in a while, goes on and then off....but this time it stayed off...and it has stayed off for 2 months now....i'm wondering what it could be, but my theory is that it has to do with certain octane gas...i remember reading about it here on the forums...but I'm guessin that if you run ur car with premium gas like Chevron and make sure ur 02 sensors are koo and make sure ur gas cap is tight...it should make ur CEL dissapear for good...

Its either the gas or the ECU took half a year tryin to adjust to the pipes...hahaha...anyways that is my theory and sorry i took so long explainin it...just thought i'd tell u in detail...

89 octane is required you know for a header/high flow cat set-up. Don't go on cheap quality gas or it will make your car run like ****.

also, for everyone that just resets there ECU when the CEL comes on. What happens if the light comes on for another reason besides the removal of the cat? how would you know? isn't that dangerous?

it means that you should take your car for a check up, there could be many reasons for the CEL coming on, aftermarket cat except for the one from Random technology, gas cap not on tight, and etc. it just basically states that there could be something wrong and you should go check.
