seatbelts keep locking

i have a 02 civic ex sedan. my rear seatbelts seem to be over sensitive. half the time ppl sitting in the back would be stuck. also im not braking hard. did honda make the rear seat belts lock up easier cuz of the possibility of kids using the rear seats? i think this affects all 3 of my rear seat belts. anyone ever thought they were too easy to lock up?

thats really weird cause EVERYONE that rides in my back seat complains about that, they lock up for no reason half the time and the people have to unbuckle half of the time to unlock it. i dont know why they do this. im worried that they may not lock if its actually ever needed.

it is because strict seat belt laws, they can only retract so far while they are in use. it is not a problem, everycar, no matter what make, will have that "problem". a simple solution for me, was to stop taking those who complained in my car with me. =)

The exact same thing has happened to numerous people in the rear who get "sucked" back against the seat and can't move forward... Hehe..

I hate when the drivers seat does that. When I go to lean forward to see something and CLICK I have to try a few times to unlock the damn thing.

For the rear, my guess would be to keep baby carseats snug.

it's so simple to unlock those belts...just lean backwards and try to feed some of the slack back into the seatbelt system....

some of the complainers are those who try to fight the seatbelt after it locks..lol...you cant turn it off by tugging harder...
