Does modifying the engine affect the longevity of the car?

I was thinking of tweaking with the engine a little and was wondering
if this would affect the longevity of the car.

Here are some things I was thinking of doing to my 2002 EX Coupe:

1) DC SPORTS 4-1 1PC HEADER
