Vibrations at highway speeds
I'm getting vibrations at interstated speeds, roughly from 75mph-80mph but then lets up a bit below and above that range. My steering also feels a lot looser than it ever did before. I'm just about positive that its no my alignment and/or a balance issue.
A few months ago I hid a pig (yes a wild 200lb pig) I have pictures if you want. I hit it doing about 70mph dead center of my car. After I hit it, I drug it for about a hundred feet or so and then when over the top of it. It literally lifted my car off of the ground about 8 inches or so. It caused $4,200 in damage. They replaced the headlights, radiator, hood, and everything in between. However they did not work on anything suspension related.
Since then I've had vibrations at highway speeds as described above. I've had an alignment done twice as well as the tires balanced. Today I got two new Potenze RE950's to replace two that were bad due to a bad alignment since my July accident. Either the first shop in July didn't align my car correctly or the vibration is cause my alignment to go out. Everything on my car is stock except for my stereo. Anybody have any ideas? I have thought of filing an amended claim through State Farm or using my extended warranty and playing dumb with Honda. Any thoughts or ideas on what the cause might be? Bent half-axle, tie rod, etc??? I'm personally leanding toward the axle because it changes as the speed changes. The axle is the only thing I can think of that would change vibration as the speed changes.
Thanks,
Kevin

Vibrations in steering wheel
The majority of the vibration is in the steering wheel/front end. Its kind of hard to pinpoint, but the whole front end is vibration and its resonating through the steering wheel. Definately front end though. I'll post the pics in a few mins.. gotta resize them and upload them.

OMG... lol
That last picture just kinda jumps out at you. Sorry bout your car though.
If your vibration is not completely isolated to the steering wheel, then you're right in that it is probably not a tire balancing issue. I've had improperly balanced wheels many times, and it is unmistakable... the car is drives smoothly but the steering wheel shakes like a biotch.
If you can actually see your front dash vibrating or shaking, then it's likely something's wrong in the front suspension and/or steering. I'm guessing that hunk of pork did some other damage that was not fixed properly by the garage. Hard to say exactly what though, without a thorough examination and test drive by a mechanic.

Hope you BB-Qed that pig after what it did to your car.
In all seriousness you probably have some front end issues that weren't addressed after your accident. If you wore out your front tires soon after the repairs were done, than it wasn't fixed properly. First call your insurance company and explain your problems, also since you don't have any mods then they can't say thats the problem. Your insurance co. might have you go to another shop to have the car completely inspected. If this happens then have a tech ride with you at 80mph so you can show him the problem.
My guess is that you might have one or more of these problems :
a drive axle thats slightly bent, slightly bent wheel can be balanced but will still vibrate at certain speeds, internally loose rack n' pinion rack, tie rod ends, rack bushings, loose struts.

You may want to check the torque on the nuts. If you over torque/under torque, you might have an issue of wheel vibrating too.
It should be exactly at 80lbs per user manual. Check it out, it may surprise you if something this simple cause a problem.
