check engine light
Well my check engine light came on. I went drag racing last wednesday. And I was running about 97 octane, cause I dumped some 110 mixed with 87. Now the 110 is leaded, so did I mess something up. My car ran a lot better. I think that my cat got hot, and needs to be reset on the sensor. Any suggestions??

eventhough i cannot provide a useful answer, common sense tells me that you did f*ck it up.... What was that term called....when the engine runs higher octane and ignites faster? hmm.. anyway it was NOT good at all.
My cheap unproven suggestion: Keep dumping 87 from now on.... no more racing fuel for you buddy.
I still dont fully understand this situation. The reason, because it has been proven that leaded gas burns better in an engine, however it is not as environmentally safe. I know that it does not hurt the engine, because I run sand rails with straight 110 octane, in subaru, and honda accord engines. So is it just the 02 sensor that is knocked out? Or maybe the cat. I filled up a new tank of gas so I will see if it flips the light off, if not I am due up for my 30K mile checkup.
Not sure if this will mean anything to you, but this is straight out of our manuals:
"Using gasoline containing lead will damage your car's emissions controls."
Can't be much clearer than that.
The ULEV requirements on the 7th gen engines may also make them more sensitive to lead than those other cars you drove.
Hopefully there isn't any permanent damage, cuz any repairs related to emissions is expensive as hell... and I doubt Honda would fix it under warranty if they detect lead in your system.

The lead in the gas coats the chemicals in the catalytic converter and renders the converter useless. That is why the Check Engine Light came on.
If you have done enough damage you find yourself in need of a new converter...
