Vibrating Sound with A/C

I just got my alarm installed today and the installer had to go deal with some wires behind the glove compartment...

I might be going insane, and maybe there really is no problem, however now I have noticed that when I turn the A/C on to the lowest setting, there seems to be a little bit of a rattling/shaking noise...

This *only* happens when the A/C is set to recirculate the air. When I have it to vent the air from the outside it doesn't happen...

I'm thinking it might have something to do with the glove compartment b/c when it is closed, you can hear the noise through the air vent all the way in the right. When you open the glove compartment, you can clearly hear the noise coming from the insides behind the compartment...

I'm not quite sure what might be causing this. It's not too terribly loud but it is fairly obnoxious...

Ideas/thoughts? Could he have possibly smashed against something (maybe the big pipe?) behind the glove compartment causing this rattling/shaking noise?

By the way...

It seems like the sound/rattling seems to be coming from *inside* the A/C vents when the glove compartment is closed. Of course, again, when the compartment is open it's louder and the sound seems like a rattle from almost inside the pipes or something...thoughts?

thats where the fan is.remove the glove compartment and check if you can visully see the problem.do it when you hear the noise and try to locate the source.could be just wires vibrating.

Okay...I didn't remove the glovebox but turned the car on, sat in the passenger's seat, and listened closely...

Really the sound is more like...the sound a fan makes. It's very concise and rythmic...

I'm wondering if y'all know what precisely happens (mechanical-wise) when you turn the recirculation button on. I'm thinking the noise was probably there before and I didn't hear it (like I said before, it's very faint). Even with the glovebox open, you can tell it's more of a mechanic noise, not really wires loose or rattling.

Plus, all I saw behind the glovebox was a big fat pipe (for A/C I assume), and a bunch of wires and electrical cables... I didn't even see the sirens that were supposed to be in...

Ideas/thoughs/wisdom appreciated.

The Piezo sirens are small mini-sirens inside the car in case someone gets in the car... The main siren is still under the hood.

The noise is so faint that if I took it to the dealer, they'd laugh at me. I'm just being picky...I'm a perfectionist like that.

I will probably end up removing the glove compartment and finding out where the noise is coming from... I'm pretty sure it's more of an engine-A/C-originated noise than anything the installer did wrong.

Again, it's so faint that you can't hear it if the A/C is above the lowest level. You have to be at a complete stop to hear it, too...

Bah...I hate being a perfectionist.

But still, what happens when the recirulation button is on? Does it turn a fan on or something?

when the recirculate button is on it closes vent doors stopping outside air from coming in.at the same time i think theres another vent door inside the cabin that opens and have the air inside go back into the filter/evap system and going out to your individual vents.i hope this is clear enough to understand.
