2012 Civic Charging issue

2012 Civic 5spd manual (not si) 175,000km

AC was working ice cold, on the highway the other day it suddenly started blowing warm. 15 minutes later the battery light came on with check charging system message.
After further testing/inspection I discovered the following:

driving over 3200 rpm the alternator stops charging , voltage drops to 12.5, 12.4, 12.3,12.2, 12.1 etc down to 11.5 and will keep dropping. The moment I drop RPM below 3200 it starts charging again and give proper voltage readings of 12.6- 14 (fluctuating as it should with ELD system)

-battery is brand new a few months ago
-ac clutch is not kicking in, I’ve checked all ac relay and fuses and they are all good
-belt tracking normally and no slippage that I can see
-power steering works normal with no issues even as voltage drops below 11.5
- I’m not sure if the ac and charging issue are related or if it’s just a coincidence.

Is there a way I can unplug the eld ie from sensor on battery just for testing without causing any issues and see if alternator charges properly above 3200 rpm when eld is off.

I suspect the issue is something to do with ELD system or a failed voltage regulator or something in the alternator, the AC I have no idea if related or not, but will get pressure checked on system and go from there.

Does anyone have any other ideas on what I can test ?

Re: 2012 Civic Charging issue

Clutch gap might be too large on the compressor.
Not sure if you could make a custom battery cable to bypass the eld for testing
