Battery Light ON
Battery Light ON
I decided that with 164K on my 2000 Civic, it was time to replace the timing belt. Since the altenator was oem and I thought that it would be a good idea to replace it even though the battery light was not on. I bought the alternator at Autozone and had them check it to make sure it was good before I left the store. I installed it and now the battery light is on. With the car turned off the battery has 13.2 volts. I started the car and turned everything on and it's showing 14.2 at the battery. All connections seem to be good. I had the charging system checked at Advance and at Autozone and the battery and alternator checked out fine. Why is the battery light still on?

Unplug the 4 wire plug from the alternator. Did the light go out?
